A R E A Gallery was a small, independent, curator-run space in Boston founded by Aynel David Guerra in late 2016. It began as a salon-style “home gallery” on the Roxbury/South End border—by appointment on weekends—designed to feel warmer and more social than a traditional white cube, and to serve communities beyond SoWa’s typical circuit. Over time it operated as a multi-format, interdisciplinary gallery based in the South End/SoWa, showing local and international artists and staging talks, performances, and event-like viewings.
